London 2012
This is a little late but better late than never. The London 2012 Olympics were phenomenal. I think everyone was a bit surprised to see such a seamless 2 weeks of events around the UK. The warnings months before the Olympics started scare us all. They were saying to stay home from work, don’t go on any form of public transportation, just stay put for 2 weeks until it was over. Well turns out that the commute to work was actually less crowded than a normal day. I was able to sit on both trains to and from work everyday. The streets were filled with visitors from around the world rocking their country across their chest with pride which was just moving to say the least.
At first we tried hard to escape London during the Olympics but that didn’t work out and I’m really happy it didn’t. We had the TV on all day in the office watching different events.
Jon and I went to indoor men’s volleyball at Earl’s Court.
We saw 2 games, Argentina v Bulgaria and Brazil v Serbia.
The fans were wild and crazy for the first game (Argentina v Bulgaria) so there was lots of energy in the arena. Although this video doesn’t show it at it’s best it was really a lot of cheering, screaming, and dancing throughout the entire game.
The London 2012 Olympics exceeded all expectations and were an incredible experience. I hope to go to more Olympic events in the future!
